About license notifications
The system sends notifications about license expirations to Administrators. The notifications are controlled by the License Expiration Notifications job. The job monitors the expiration date of all the UKG GovTA licenses. By default, the job is scheduled to run daily at 3:00 AM server time. The job sends messages to the Administrator starting 60 days prior to the expiration date.
Notification examples
The License Expiration Notifications job sends High Priority notifications at these intervals:
60 days prior to expiration
45 days prior to expiration
30 days prior to expiration
14 days prior to expiration
7 days prior to expiration
5 days prior to expiration
3 days prior to expiration
1 day prior to expiration
An example UKG GovTA notification is shown below.
Subject: Licenses Expiring
Message: "The UKG GovTA term license will expire in X day(s). The expiration date is DATE (11:59 PM). You will need to import a new license string prior to the expiration date. Failure to import a new license will result in an interruption of service (users won't be able to log in)."
Message: "The UKG GovTA term license whose Licensee is <=licensee> and License Owner is <=Licensee Owner> will expire in <=X> day(s). The expiration date is <=DATE> (11:59 PM). For continuation of service, a new license may need to be installed."
An example notification for other term license modules is shown below.
Subject: Licenses Expiring
Message: "The LICENSE term license will expire in X day(s). The expiration date is DATE (11:59 PM). You will need to import a new license string prior to the expiration date. Failure to import a new license will result in an interruption of service (features will not be available)."
Message: "The <=Module License Name> term license whose Licensee is <=licensee> and License Owner is <=Licensee Owner> will expire in <=X> day(s). The expiration date is <=DATE> (11:59 PM). For continuation of service, a new license may need to be installed."
Note: If a license for the next term has been installed and it has an effective date in the future, the job does not send the warning notification.
