Administrator Home

The Home page serves as a dashboard for viewing information, performing tasks, and making selections from the main menu. For an explanation of the different components, refer to Overview of the Home page.

Administrator Main Menu

The Administrator main menu provides access to basic set up features such as licenses , accounts, organizations, rules, transaction codes and calendars. It also includes employee profiles, payroll provider management, jobs and imports, password authentication, tiles, system diagnostics, and system configuration. Depending on your agency's implementation, some of the functions described below may not be available.

Common Set Up

  • Application Banner. Set up text that displays on each application page.

  • Calendar Management. Add a new holiday or unfunded mandate calendar, or edit the US Federal holiday calendar.

  • Intermediate Approver Preferences. Specify options for intermediate leave and premium pay request approvers.

  • License Management. Import and administer user licenses and view the status of licenses.

  • Login Banner. Set up text that displays on the Login page.

  • Manage Accounts. View the account structure and work with accounts, values, and restrictors.

  • Organization Management. Add, edit, delete, move and view organizations, sub-organizations, and members.

  • Pay Period Management. Restrict user access to timesheets, schedules, and leave balances.

  • Rule Management. View, enable or disable rules for authentication and timesheet validation.

  • Transaction Code Management. Add, edit, copy, and delete transaction codes; specify the order in which codes display; and specify whether the code and/or description displays.

Employees

  • Select Employees. Work with employee profiles, timesheet profiles, and employee accounts.

  • Add Employee. Add new users to the system.

Payroll

  • Payroll Provider Management. Process timesheet data, transfer data to the payroll provider, work with build schedules, and configure parameters that handle the data transfer process.

  • Supplemental Build Configuration. Specify connection parameters for supplemental build files.

Reports

  • Reports server (opens in new window). Access the reports instance.

  • Standard Reports. Run, print or save reports.

  • Saved and Scheduled Reports. Download, rerun, delete, or e-mail reports generated in the background.

  • Reports Module. Create, save, modify, share, and schedule custom (ad hoc) reports.

  • Report Quota Management. Set limits on how much report output data users may save.

  • Publish Reports. Make ad hoc and/or standard reports available to other users.

Email and Messages

  • Email Management. Configure options for e-mail formatting and source.

  • Message Management. Enable or disable messages that the system sends to the employee's Inbox.

  • Send System Wide Message. Send an e-mail to all users.

Jobs and Imports

  • Bi-Directional Configurations. Set up daily and bi-weekly data imports and exports.

  • Export Job Management. Configure, test, and schedule export jobs.

  • Import Job Management. Configure, test, and schedule import jobs.

  • Jobs Management. Monitor, enable, disable, execute and adjust background server processes.

Passwords & Authentication

  • Access Levels. Identifies the Low, Medium or High access level associated with each role.

  • API Clients. Register API clients for third party integration with the application. The APIs module license must be enabled for this option to be available.

  • LDAP Management. Configure LDAP options.

  • Multi-factor Authentication. Enable MFA, specify the relying party ID and name, and specify which roles can opt in to using MFA.

  • Password Message. Set up an informational message that the system displays when users change their password.

  • PAT Management. Allows Administrators to revoke personal access tokens (PATs) created by Developers.

  • SAML 2 Configuration. Configure the system to use IdP-initiated SAML or SP-initiated SAML. The system requires encryption for both IdP- and SP-initiated SAML.

  • Session Management. Manage the behavior of user sessions and timeouts due to inactivity.

  • Single Sign-On Management. Allow single sign-on authentication using either an HTTP header value or HTTP remote user schemes.

Tile Management

  • Enable Tiles. Select tiles that will be available for each role to use.

  • Paydays Tile Set Up. Specify the payday.

System Diagnostics

  • Error Management. Troubleshoot errors, view error details, and manage error message storage limits.

System Set Up

  • About. View the Client build version and Foundation build version.

  • Application Management. Specify system settings such as the current run mode, the external web address prefix, the system sender e-mail address, and the application default time zone.

  • Audits. Provides audit log channels.

  • Configuration Management. Work with UKG Professional Services to export and import XML files that target specific system functions.

  • Data Dictionary. View data dictionary tables and save the data dictionary to an Excel file.

  • Key Management. Set up key profiles that use AES-GCM mode, symmetric data encryption key rotation, and online re-encryption of historical data.

  • Migration Management. Set up, save configuration settings, and run data migration jobs.

  • Report Features. Includes options for enabling Priority Run, Run Off Hours, and Report Deletion.

  • Reports Server Management. Provides options for configuring a reports server.

  • Script Execution. Utilize a front-end interface that executes database scripts.

  • Server Management. Edit the server name and optionally, view status details including the UUID, memory, and load information.

  • Service Account Management. If the Web Services license is enabled, the Administrator may add, edit and delete service accounts, formerly referred to as TAWS.
